Industrial Spray Painter

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced industrial spray painter to join a busy manufacturing production team. You will apply wet paint coatings to truck parts, truck bodies, and related components while consistently meeting high standards of finish quality, safety, and production efficiency. You will use your hands-on spray painting experience, strong attention to detail, and teamwork skills to support reliable, high-quality output in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare truck parts, truck bodies, and related components for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and thoroughly inspecting surfaces.
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to specified formulas, work instructions, and paint specifications.
  • Apply wet paint coatings using conventional and/or HVLP spray guns to achieve proper coverage and finish.
  • Ensure finish quality and color consistency across all painted parts, following established quality standards.
  • Inspect painted parts for runs, defects, or imperfections and perform touch-ups or rework as needed.
  • Maintain spray guns, paint mixing equipment, and the surrounding work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and environmental regulations related to paint use and disposal.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to meet daily and weekly production schedules and throughput goals.
  • Complete required documentation, including production records, paint usage logs, and quality check forms.
  • Troubleshoot basic paint application issues and make adjustments to equipment or techniques to maintain consistent results.
  • Support a collaborative team environment by communicating effectively and assisting coworkers as needed to keep work flowing smoothly.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing spray painting experience in an industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience applying wet paint using spray guns, including conventional and HVLP equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, paint specifications, and production documentation.
  • Knowledge of paint preparation, mixing ratios, viscosity control, and proper application techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail with a clear commitment to high-quality workmanship and finish standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to follow safety procedures and environmental regulations in a paint and manufacturing environment.
  • Readiness to step into a production environment without extensive training, using prior experience to quickly contribute.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience painting truck parts, truck bodies, or similar large industrial components.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting common spray painting issues such as orange peel, runs, or poor adhesion.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or fabrication setting with production schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new processes and adapt to evolving production requirements.
  • Strong teamwork mindset and willingness to support a collaborative, learning-focused culture.
Why Work Here?

Employees benefit from a comprehensive package once hired on, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) and an employee ownership program (ESOP) that allows team members to share in the company's success. The organization offers generous allowances such as a $100 boot reimbursement, $100 toward safety glasses, and $250 that can be used toward healthy lifestyle activities like gym memberships, golf, or massages. Team members may also be eligible for monthly profit-sharing bonuses based on attendance and PTO usage, with many employees regularly earning this extra income. A referral bonus program rewards employees for helping bring in new talent, and the employee-owned culture emphasizes teamwork, learning, and shared success.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility with a Monday through Thursday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing four longer workdays with most Fridays reserved for overtime as needed, often at least a half day and sometimes a full day. The environment is not climate controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons and require comfort working in changing conditions. You will work in a production paint area using spray guns, paint mixing equipment, and related tools, following safety and environmental guidelines. The facility emphasizes safe work practices, appropriate protective equipment, and a team-oriented atmosphere focused on meeting production goals while maintaining high quality.
